From Play To Words
Movement That Builds Confidence, Awareness, and Participation
Gross motor and dynamic movement skills are the foundation for how children move, play, and participate in everyday life. Through movement, children learn about their sensory systems, develop body awareness, and build confidence. We provide individualized support for children with a range of developmental profiles, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental coordination disorder (DCD), and dyspraxia, tailoring therapy to each child’s strengths and needs. Our focus is on functional movement, regulation, and meaningful participation in daily activities.

Evidence Informed Approach
Our gross motor intervention is structured to enhance independence, confidence, and participation in daily life.

Play-Based Focus
Movement activities with a functional focus and individualized goals.

DMI - Dynamic Movement Intervention
Working to improve automatic postural responses.

Full-Body Support
We focus on the body as a whole, including awareness, coordination, balance and endurance.

Collaborative Approach
We help families and caregivers to support participation across home, school and community settings.

Evidence-Informed Gross Motor Intervention
Our approach is guided by current evidence and clinical reasoning to support gross motor skill development in meaningful ways. Intervention focuses on how movement skills impact daily activities, participation, and confidence, rather than isolated performance. Strategies are continually adjusted based on the child’s response and progress.
Play-Based Movement With a Functional Focus
Sessions use engaging, play-based activities that involve whole-body movement in dynamic environments. Activities are purposefully selected to reflect real-life movement demands, such as navigating space, maintaining balance, and coordinating the body during play and daily routines. Play supports motivation, engagement, and learning. Goals are developed collaboratively and reflect what is meaningful and relevant to the child and family. Progress is measured through functional change, not just skill acquisition.
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
DMI uses purposeful, therapist-guided dynamic movement to encourage active motor responses, support postural control, and promote progress in motor skill development for children with movement delays. Contact us to learn more.
Supporting Body Awareness, Coordination, Balance, and Endurance
Intervention targets foundational gross motor skills that support efficient and confident movement. Activities are designed to improve body awareness, coordination, balance, and endurance in ways that translate to real-world participation. Building these foundations can support confidence, regulation, and sustained engagement.
Collaborative Approach With
Families and Caregivers
Families and caregivers are key partners in the therapy process. We work collaboratively to share strategies, build understanding, and support carryover into daily routines and community activities. This approach helps ensure progress is meaningful, consistent, and sustainable beyond therapy sessions.
